A RARE PAIR OF EMBROIDERED YELLOW SILK SQUARE CUSHIONS
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
Each finely worked in satin stitch, Peking knot and couched gold threads with a central motif of a bat and chime suspending a wan emblem and catfish, enclosed by lotus scroll, framed within a further border of lotus and archaistic scroll and ruyi heads, all reserved on a yellow silk ground; together with the original yellow silk brocade pillow covers woven with a design of scrolling clouds
