According to J. So, Eastern Zhou Ritual Bronzes from the Arthur M. Sackler Collections, 1995, p. 156, vessels of this sparsely decorated type have been found in excavations in Shaanxi and Henan provinces.

LATE SPRING AND AUTUMN PERIOD, LATE 6TH-EARLY 5TH CENTURY BC
The globular body raised on three squat supports, flat cast with a narrow rope-twist band below a raised band of cowrie shells, with further rope-twist bands at the rim, and on the cover between the three cowrie-decorated loop handles as well as encircling the loop and loose ring in the center, the bowl with a pair of taotie mask and loose ring handles
