From the Shahnama of Firdawsi, gouache heightened with gold on paper, Isfandiyar and Kohrom, son of Arjasp, engage in battle, Isfandiyar lifting Kohrom above his head whilst still mounted on his horse, around them a green hilly landscape, with four columns of nasta'liq above and below with double gold interlinear rule, the reverse with further lines of nasta'liq, folio trimmed, small area of wormholing, flaking, between green margins with floral lattice design, mounted
