Persian manuscript on paper, the upper half with a single line of bold black nasta'liq within cloud bands on finely gold illuminated ground, the lower half with lines of black nasta'liq written in the diagonal over delicate blue illuminated ground, signature and date to the lower left hand side corner, slight staining and scuffing, mounted

Muhammad Husayn is likely to be Muhammad Husayn Tehrani, the royal scribe of the famous One Thousand and One Nights. His recorded works are dated between AH 125 1836-7 AD and AH 1270/1853-4 AD (Mehdi Bayani, Ahval va asar-e khosh-nevisan, vol. 3, Teheran, 1348 sh., pp. 695-7).
