With single-edged slightly curved blade, decorated with extensive gold damascening, one side with a large calligraphic cartouche inscribed with a Turkish quatrain in naskh centered around a circular calligraphic composition and issuing fan-shaped palmettes, further inscription in Persian and Arabic, signed and dated, the other side with a long spray of palmettes originating in a medallion inscribed tawakkaltu 'ala Allah (I put my trust in God), inscribed with the owner's name 'Umar, the silver hilt of typical form with split flaring pommel and a long cusped cross-guard, with cornelian insets and silver filigree, the hilt a replacement, the silver scabbard with finely engraved floral arabesques, the chape a dragon head, the locket associated, patches of corrosion, gilding rubbed
