Lot Essay

Ajit Singh was the ruler of Ladva. In the first Anglo-Sikh war he fought on the side of the Sikhs and evetually had his estates confiscated and was arrested.
The artist [Thakur] Lal Singh worked at the court of Nabkha State. He illustrated M.A. Macauliffe's The Sikh Religion, Oxford, 1909
