A RARE INDIAN PART-ARMOUR COMPRISING TÓP, CHA'AINA AND A PAIR OF DASTÁNA, LAHORE, LATE 17TH CENTURY
Finely decorated with central panels of interlaced flowering tendrils chiselled in low relief and picked-out with gold koftgari flowerheads, the borders decorated with further finely drawn gold koftgari ornaments involving a broad band of scrolling flowers, with buckles and fittings en suite, the tøep with early printed fabric lining and fitted with camail of rivetted and butted small rings, the two cha'aina plates of watered steel and retaining a portion of the original lining (5)
