A CIRCULAR IRON PARADE SHIELD IN FRENCH MANNERIST STYLE; AND ANOTHER PARADE SHIELD EMBOSSED IN ITALIAN MID 16TH CENTURY STYLE
LATE 19TH CENTURY
The first of cast iron, decorated with a band of figures depicting scenes from Roman history, including the presentation of Pompey's head; the second cast with a relief pattern of scrolling foliage inhabited by demon masks (central spike missing)
