The first with sharply tapering blade of flattened diamond section, long arched quillons swept forwards towards the tips, outer ring-guard, tall faceted pommel, and original fluted grip bound with wire and Turk's heads; The second "aged condition", the blade cut with a full length fuller, brass crosspiece, iron disc pommel (perhaps fourteenth century) and modern leather-covered grip
