This peculiar little jug, called pijpkan or schapenkan, traditionally has had different attributions pertaining to its use: such as to feed lambs, or to feed babies. B. Dubbe however maintains that both ideas are unlikely as the spout is much to small to pass baby food through and a use to feed lambs seems impractical. Dubbe believes that these small jugs were used to drink liquor. The stylised wolf's head from which the spout issues is an extremely rare feature.
