THE GERMAN "ZUNFTPOKAL" OR "WILKOMM" WAS IN USE FROM THE 17TH CENTURY ONWARDS AND WOULD TRADITIONALLY BE PASSED AROUND AT THE OPENING OF GUILD MEETINGS FOR A WELCOME DRINK. THREE COMPARABLE EXAMPLES ARE ILLUSTRATED IN F. AICHELE, ZINN, MUNICH, 1977, PP. 131-132.
