Lot Essay

Arnold Mason (1885-1963) was born at Bikenhead in Cheshire. He studied at the Maccelfield School of Art, R.C.A. and the Slade. In 1906 he assisted Sir William Richmond with the decorations to the Old Bailey, London and he served in the Artists' Rifles between 1915 - 1918. He died in London in 1963.
