A Silver and Cloisonné Enamel Pierced Bowl and Cover
Marked P. Ovchinnikov with the Imperial warrant, Moscow, 1882
Of ovoid form, on four ball-and-claw feet rising to wing-form joins surmounted by stylized floral medallions, the base with alternating blue and green rays with gilt stars, the body pierced with foliate arabesques in Old Russian style, below a band of stylized flowerheads between ropework borders, the pierced cover with conforming decoration, surmounted by a semi-recumbent figure of Cupid holding a bow and arrow, marked on cover bezel and finial
