Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with black dial and raised yellow gold hour markers in 1939 and its subsequent sale on 25 August 1939.

Reference 677 was in production during a short period in the second half of the 1930s. To date, it is exclusively known to exist in yellow gold. The present watch is one of the four examples of reference 677 to have appeared in public and furthermore the only one with black dial and retailer's signature Walser Wald.
