Lot Essay

According to the Archives of Audemars Piguet, the present watch is part of an exceedingly small series of probably less than five examples of this model made in 1995. All cases were numbered 1, each watch was set with different precious stones such as diamonds and rubies, diamonds and emeralds etc., consequently rendering them all unique. The present watch is the only example of the series featuring exclusively diamonds.

The watch appears to be in new old stock condition and stands out by its highly unusual design and case construction, allowing it to be worn either as brooch or as a wristwatch.

Set with around 140 diamonds of approx. 16 to 18 carats, such highly jewelled watches were most certainly made to special order.
