Lot Essay

We are grateful to Mr. Ludwig Meyer for confirming the attribution on the basis of photographs, noting that it was first proposed by Prof. Ernst Buchner in a letter of expertise dated 15 May 1959.
This commanding depiction of the Resurrection would have been the central panel of a small, multipanelled altarpiece.
