Lot Essay

The design of these wall-lights is inspired by a group of ormolu wall- lights of the mid-1780s, attributed to Pierre Gouthière (See H. Ottomeyer & P. Pröschel Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich 1986, Vol. I, p.241).
