Enamelled with a carp rising from swirling waves in a central medallion enclosed by leaf- and fan-shaped panels of archaistic vessels and flowering plants, all reserved on a ground of peony sprays over scrolls, the border with a floral seeded-green band reserved with butterfly and floral cartouches, underglaze blue hua mark within double circles on the base enclosed by an unglazed grooved foot
