AN EGYPTIAN GREEN GLAZED COMPOSITION FIGURE OF TUERIS
CIRCA 6TH-1ST CENTURY B.C.
The pregnant hippopotamus-headed deity wearing a tripartite wig, standing with the left leg advanced, 2½ in. (6.5 cm.) high; and a group of mainly glazed composition amulets including three similar figures of Tueris; a seated baboon; a kneeling figure of Shu; Isis and Harpocrates; Thoth; seated Sekhmet holding a sistrum; and two standing figures of Sekhmet, all 6th Century B.C.-1st Century A.D.
