A MEISSEN CHINOISERIE TWO-HANDLED BEAKER AND SAUCER
CIRCA 1730-35, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS, GILDER'S DOT BETWEEN THE HILTS TO BOTH
The beaker painted with two chinoiserie vignettes within gilt quatrefoil cartouches with Böttger-lustre panels edged with scrolls and with purple Oriental figures, the interior with a Gitterwerk border, the gilt handles flanked by indianische Blumen, the saucer with a seated Oriental and two children playing with a dog, with vases, vessels, a statue, coral and other exotic items nearby, within a similar cartouche and border, the underside with indianische Blumen (some very slight wear to gilt rim of beaker)
