Lot Essay

The present basket is possibly one of four baskets ordered by Louis XV for his daughters and recorded in the Sèvres sales ledger's in the Sèvres archives (Vy 2 fol. 52 vo): 4 idem (corbeilles) idem (a ozier) 2e idem (grandeur ou BC?) 192 (livre each) 768 (livres in total).

Further mention is in the Livre Journal de Lazare Duvaux in December 1757: 3007. -- Mme ADELAÏDE : (...) -- Une corbeille a jour, rouge & or, 192 l./3008. -- Mme VICTOIRE : (...) -- Une corbeille a jour, rouge & or, 192 l./3009. -- Mme SOPHIE : (...) -- Une corbeille à jour, rouge & or, 192 l./3010. -- Mme LOUISE : (...) -- Une corbeille à jour, rouge & or, 192 l.
