A SEVRES TWO-HANDLED BROTH-BOWL, COVER AND LOBED STAND (ECUELLE RONDE TOURNEE ET PLATEAU ROND, 3EME GRANDEUR)
CIRCA 1759-60, BOWL WITH INDISTINCT MARK AND INCISED T AND DU (?), STAND WITH INTERLACED LS ENCLOSING DATE LETTER G (?) ABOVE PAINTER'S FLEUR-DE-LYS MARK FOR TAILLANDIER
The bleu lapis gilt caillouté ground of each piece reserved with bold scrolling gilt-edged green scrolls enclosing shaped white panels painted with bouquets of flowers and fruit, the bowl with entwined white foliate handles enriched in gilding, the domed cover with a white olive branch handle with gilt foliage and berries, gilt dentil rims (cover with minute chip to interior flange, stand with minute wear to gilding)

"1 ecuelle et plateau rubans lapis, 240 (livres)"

Vincent Taillandier was a painter of flowers and ground patterns at Vincennes and Sèvres from 1753 to 1790.
