Each on circular pedestal foot with gadrooned rim, the stem with urn-form socket, with two entwined branches, urn-form sockets with detachable nozzles, with detachable flame-form finial, engraved coat-of-arms and motto at foot, waxpans and nozzles engraved with crest and earl's coronet, marked on base, branch, waxpans, sockets, nozzles, and finials

Lot Essay

The arms are those of Tufton, for Sackville, 9th Earl of Thanet (1769-1825), who succeded to the earldom in 1786.
