A FINELY CARVED LATE MING THREE-COLOUR LACQUER DISH
MING DYNASTY, 16TH CENTURY
Finely carved to the central medallion with a barbed quatrefoil panel enclosing a full-faced dragon supporting wan emblems above his head on either side of a 'flaming pearl' against a yellow diaper-ground, the dragon reserved on a dark green diaper-ground, all within a border of leafy lotus meander around the cavetto, the reverse with a composite floral scroll meander above the broad foot encircled by a key-fret border
6 1/2 in. (16.5cm.) diam.
