AN ETRUSCAN BRONZE WARRIOR
CIRCA 470-450 B.C.
Armed in a Phrygian helmet and high greaves, standing with his left leg advanced, wearing a short tunic, the collar and hem with an incised border, pleated along his hips revealing his buttocks and the form of his body, his arms bent at the elbow with the forearms extended forward, his oval face with large almond-shaped eyes, the lips pursed into a slight smile, his hair falling in a single undulating mass to the shoulders, the individual wavy strands incised, the high, forward-curving helmet with the cheek-pieces upturned, the neck-guard flanged, tenons below the feet for insertion
