Two Silver-Gilt and Cloisonné Enamel Sugar-baskets
The smaller basket, mark of Nikolai Alekseev, Moscow, 1895; the second, mark of Nikolai Zverev, Moscow, 1908-1917, also with two French import marks
Both circular with swing handles, the first enamelled with stylized flowers and scrolling foliage in white, pink, red and green on a light blue ground; the second enamelled with varicolor shaded birds, flowers and foliage on a gilt-stippled ground, between turquoise pellet borders, marked under bases
The first 4 in. (10.2 cm.) diameter; the second 5 in. (12.8 cm.)
