A MEISSEN TWO-HANDLED BEAKER, COVER AND STAND
CIRCA 1730, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS TO BEAKER AND STAND, BEAKER WITH DREHER'S .. MARK AND STAND WITH ,, MARK, GILDER'S 6. MARKS TO ALL PIECES
The beaker painted with figures by buildings and columns in landscapes, within two quatrefoil gilt cartouches with lustrous panels and red and purple scrolls, divided by indianische Blumen by the double-scroll gilt handles, the interior with a gilt Laub-und-Bandelwerk border, the shallow domed cover with three vignettes within similar cartouches about a gilt knop finial, the stand similarly decorated with a single panel, the underside with iron-red insects and flowering branches (beaker with minute wear to rim, cover with two areas of flaking to gilt rim and small minor chip to interior flange)
The beaker and cover 4¼ in. (10.9 cm.) high; the stand 5 5/16 in. (13.5 cm.) diam.
