A VINCENNES BLEU LAPIS TWO-HANDLED CIRCULAR ECUELLE AND COVER (ECUELLE ROND)
1755-56, BLUE INTERLACED L'S ENCLOSING DATE LETTER C, UNIDENTIFIED PAINTER'S MARK OF A STYLISED BIRD AND DOT, BLUE DOT TO FOOTRIM OF ECUELLE
With entwined branch handles, the mottled ground reserved on each side with a panel painted with loose bouquets of flowers, within gilt rococo scroll cartouches with palm fronds, flowering branches and diaper-pattern panels, the domed cover similarly decorated below a fruiting laurel branch finial, gilt dentil rims (small chip to one handle, very slight wear to gilt rims, further minute wear)
