Chambertin Grand Cru--Vintage 1983
Côte de Nuits. Domaine-bottled: Armand Rousseau
Three slightly corroded capsules. Five slightly stained labels. Levels 2cms or better below base of corks
Tasting note: Two notes in the mid-1990's. Ripe; sweet, good flavour, 'hopeless with cheese'at Neville Abrahams' 20th anniversary dinner at Soho-Soho in 1994. The following spring, fully mature looking; subtle, complex nose, almost too sweet; good flavour, power, length, tannin, and acidity. Last noted at a Rousseau tasing in Florida, March 1995, should be excellent now. **** M.B.
