Lot Essay

The engraved initials stand for Nathaniel Charles Rothschild 1877-1923. A member of the Rothschild banking family, he lived in London and his country Estate of Ashton Wold, Northamptonshire. The ownership initials were probably engraved on the occasion of his marriage in 1907
