Lot Essay

As Avery notes, this charming group comes in two versions of Little Venus Bathing, with and without the cupid (Avery, op. cit., p. 9).

A nearly identical version, attributed to the workshop of Fanelli, is in the Abbott Guggenheim Collection (loc. cit.).
