Next thing he [Patrick] does is he locks himself in a room which I had told him has an automatic lock but that the key is misplaced. I had to pass the screwdriver to him through the crevice, it's a winged door and the lock is a chain lock. While all this was going on, there were a number of large paintings on a table and leaning against one wing of the door, which came crashing down, breaking one painting in half, a 1958 portrait of a man on board.
