Château Lafleur--Vintage 1961
Pomerol
Levels: bottom neck; one capsule cut to reveal château and vintage branded cork, glue stained labels
"The '61 Lafleur was the wine of the night in a crowded field - really perfect wine, lacking nothing at all. On the nose there is a ripe nose of figs and plums fruit edged with tobacco and cedary spice along with a subtle hint of saddle leather and a haunting floral note. On the palate, the wine is very lively, with great extract and richness but nothing overstated, and retaining a fesh acidity and great length. Amazingly wonderful." CC, August 2009
