A 1962 Fender Precision Bass; serial number 80965, in white finish, double cutaway alder body, maple neck, twenty fret "slab" Brazilian wood fingerboard with dot inlays, one pickup, two rotary controls, nickel plated bridge baseplate with four adjustable saddles, faux tortoise shell pickguard; nickel plated pickup and bridge covers; Fender black rectangular hardshell case; accompanied by a letter signed by John Entwistle confirming the guitar was part of his collection

Lot Essay

This Fender Precision Bass is believed to have been one of Entwistle's earliest guitars. Originally sunburst in colour, John, in his letter confirms that he had it re-finished white.
