FIRST EDITION of this collection of Franklin's works, edited by his grandson, William Temple Franklin. By his will, Benjamin Franklin left the vast majority of his books and manuscripts to this grandson. Volume II, Private Correspondence, bears the year 1817 (in addition to 1818) as explained in Ford (555). Ford 561, Howes F323, Sabin 25545. (3)
