Lot Essay

Hilda Watson was interested in the psychology of Carl Yung, and in the early 1920s the Watsons travelled to Switzerland to attend his clinic. It is possible that the Alpine sketches in this lot date from this trip and that the lady in red seen on the hillside is probably Hilda.
