Lot Essay

The design for this clock is inspired by the celebrated drawing executed circa 1805 and attributed to Jean-André Reiche, which is illustrated in H. Ottomeyer P. Pröschel et. al., Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, vol. I, p. 374, fig. 5.15.3.
