maker's mark of Johann Christoph Treffler I, Augsburg, 1717-1718

Circular, the body with plain sides and moulded rim, with two shell-shaped handles decorated with a panelled flower head, the stepped domed cover engraved to the rim with a frieze of foliage and strapwork over a matted ground, the centre engraved with similar decoration enhanced with flower heads and centred with a baluster swing-handle, the cover further engraved with a crowned A, the base engraved EA over F
