Mignon est le titre d'un opéra d'Ambroise Thomas (1811-1866), tiré du roman de Goethe intitulé Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre, il fut représenté pour la première fois à Paris en 1866. Le personnage principal est une jolie jeune fille surnommée Mignon, kidnappée dans son enfance dans le château de son père par des bohémiens. En 1894, Mignon entra dans l'histoire de l'Opéra français en fêtant sa millième représentation à l'Opéra Comique à Paris et son immense succès en Europe.
