Meiji period (circa 1900), signed Joun [Oshima Joun, 1858-1940]
Of globular form cast in relief, chiseled and inlaid in gold, silver and copper, with a hawk perched on a large maple branch and with other smaller birds resting and in flight, the domed cover surmounted by a finial cast in high relief as a kingfisher on a maple branch, on three short cylindrical legs; signed on foot
