Lot Essay

Gui Changshi was a well-known calligrapher and painter and was born in Kunshan, Jiangsu. Along with Li Liufang and Wang Zhijian, he was called one of the Three Talented Men. Gui was especially highly regarded for his cursive calligraphy and paintings of orchids and bamboo.
