Lot Essay

A RARE SET OF VINTAGE PRINTS OF SCOTT AND BOWERS' PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN ON THE SOUTHERN JOURNEY. Wright's First Supporting Party returned the films to Ponting at Cape Evans (see notes to lots 131 and 133), and Wright used these images to supplement his own in his Physiography of the Beardmore Glacier.
