The case of typical form, brass carrying handle to the top, pierced soundfrets, glazed door to front and reverse, the polychrome decorated brass dial with engraved and painted moonphase to the arch, silvered Roman and Arabic chapterring signed A. Van Oostrom, matted centre with mock pendulum, silvered alarm setting disc and date aperture above VI, eight-day twin barrel gut fusee movement with four ringed pillars, verge escapement with integral backswinging pendulum, Dutch strike with pull repeat and alarm on two bells above; door key
