FAITOT, DYON. SECOND QUARTER 19TH CENTURY
The case of typical form, ormolu berried-laurel cast bezel to the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, signed Faitot Horloger à Dyon, blued steel moon hands and sweep seconds pointer, the long-duration movement (possibly year-going) with thick pierced and shaped brass plates joined by four ring turned pillars, single barrel movement with pinwheel escapement, long crutch with adjustment issuing from the back to the massive steel and brass (nine rod) gridiron pendulum with spring suspension mounted on the backboard, large brass bob, the movement suspended from a brass bracket secured to the backboard, the brass weight sliding down the rear of the case via a pulley system within the detachable pediment; gridiron pendulum, door key, crank key 210 cm. high
