the globe probably by Bauer, made of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores, in its original box, lacking lid, with a 9-foot long pull out frieze comprised of 8 sheets containing 48 hand coloured illustrations of different nationalities (24) and animals (24) labelled in English, French and German.

Lot Essay

The extremely long pull out frieze is the longest we have come across, and contains the often-seen The Earth, its inhabitants, as well as the much rarer Animals.
