Lot Essay

Born in Pretoria, South Africa in 1963, Robert Leggat trained at both the Cape Town and Pretoria Technical Colleges, graduating in 1988.

Examples of his work can be found in both private and corporate collections worldwide, including the First National Bank, the Ned Bank and the University of the Witswatersrand. Commissions include a life-size bronze sculpture of a Dolphin and Calf (erected in a prominent public position in Plettenberg Bay, S.A.), and a 'Kudu bull' sculpture for the International Nedbank Million Dollar Golf Challenge at Sun City.

Working in various mediums with exceptional attention to detail, the present lot majestically capture nature in her rawest, purest, and most impressive form.
