The serpentine rouge griotte marble top above a spreading frieze and bombé door painted with a gallant scene, the interior fitted with two shelves, the angles mounted with male and female terms, on splayed legs with foliate sabots, the reverse of the mounts variously signed ZN

Another cabinet of this design is illustrated in D. Ledoux-Lebard, Le mobilier français du XIXe siècle, Paris, 1984, p. 645. Another of slightly larger scale was sold at Christie's, New York, 24 October 2006, lot 491 ($42,000).
