Lot Essay

A virtually identical pair of Louis XV style gueridons stamped Henri Dasson and dated 1875, was sold at Sotheby's, Monaco, 14 October 1989, lot 154 (FF177,600), while a further related pair was sold at Christie's, London, 'Parisian Taste in London, A Private Collection and Furniture', 10 September 2009, lot 293 (£10,000).
