WINES FROM A CONNOISSEUR
The collection contains the best vintages in Bordeaux in the past thirty and the best wines from each vintage. 1982 has the famous and exotic Mouton, 1983 presents the legendary Margaux, the mammoth 1986 is represented by another perfect Mouton, the 99 point Lafite, and Gruaud Larose (an insider's favorite), the '89 has the best Clinet ever made (with the possible exception of the '09, stay tuned), '90 has Latour and best Montrose ever made (again, with the possible exception of the '09), '96 has the Lafite and Margaux and '98 has two fantastic right bank standouts, Pavie Macquin and Tertre Rotebouef.
Not to be missed amid this wealth of claret is the very rare Coche-Dury, including 8 bottles of the 1991 Corton-Charlemagne, and choice lots of Harlan and Sassicaia.
The gregarious and charming consignor, once a member of several tasting groups, has focused his energies on other passions such as music, and seeks to divest a portion of his collection so the wines may find new homes with oenophiles eager to drink these bottles in their prime. A team of Christie's specialists inspected and removed the wine for sale from a custom-built temperature and humidity controlled home cellar.
Château Certan de May--Vintage 1982

Levels: five bottom neck, one top shoulder; glue stained labels
