Lot Essay

Total production of the First Model sporting rifle amounted to approximately one thousand examples beginning at serial no. 1. The present Lot and the following Lot each display features unique to the First Model rifle such as the spur-type trigger-guard and the oiler device on the left side of the barrel-lug. The present Lot also benefits from a very crisp deer hunter cylinder scene which was another feature unique to the First Model. The old English lettering forming the barrel signature is only found on low serial number rifles
